Adoption Process

Adoption process

All of our cats come from tragic situations: they have been abandoned, part of unwanted litters that ended up in a bin, fallen from windows, or simply lost with no one to claim them. Each one needs veterinary care, and some require long and expensive treatments. Once they are ready, we find them a responsible family that will prioritize their safety and commit to ensuring they never have to endure such hardship again.

Please read our adoption process carefully before submitting your application, and adopt responsibly. We dedicate time, effort, and resources to give these cats a new opportunity, and adoption is a commitment that typically lasts between 10 and 15 years. Make sure you’re fully prepared to take on this responsibility.

Additionally, remember that kittens thrive better with a companion, so we recommend considering a joint adoption if you do not already have other cats at home.

Finally, please note that we will not place any cat for adoption unless the home is adequately protected. If you are unwilling or unable to install protections on terraces, balconies, windows, or other exits to the outside, we ask that you refrain from continuing with the process. After all the effort we have invested in their recovery, we do not want one of our cats to end up lost or injured. Our goal is to ensure they have a long, safe, and happy life.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

* Must be of legal age.
* Commit to keeping the animal indoors.
* Install anti-escape protections on all windows, balconies, terraces, and/or gardens.

PRE-ADOPTION FORM

The first step to adopting one of our cats is to complete a simple questionnaire. We ask that you answer honestly, as there are no right or wrong answers. Take your time—there’s no rush.

If your questionnaire indicates that you are ready to adopt, we will contact you to arrange a preliminary visit, allowing you to meet your future friend if you wish.

Our cats are in private foster homes, living with families and their own pets. This means we know each cat well, ensuring they are well-socialized and ready for their new homes.
ADOPTION CONDITIONS
We will ask you to either come to your home or send us photos and videos. Why? This allows us to assess whether your environment will be suitable for the cat and to identify any potential conflicts that may arise in the future. We can also assist you with any questions you might have about where the cat will sleep, the best place for its litter box, how to help the cat adapt to its new surroundings, or if any precautions should be taken prior to adoption.

Kittens will never be released until they are at least 8 weeks old, at which point they can be vaccinated and microchipped. Cats leave our care with a microchip registered in the name of the association. After 6 months or at the time of sterilization, the chip will be updated to the adopter's information, which will be the responsibility of the adopters.

We do request a donation for adoption. Why? This donation helps cover a portion of the veterinary expenses we have already invested in the cat since it arrived with us, including the costs for the microchip, vaccinations, passport, and deworming.

The donation amount is 150 euros. In exchange, you will receive a vaccinated animal, with double deworming, a microchip, passport, and sterilization.
THE ADOPTION CONTRACT
If the questionnaire and prior visits are satisfactory, and you agree to the conditions outlined, we will proceed to prepare a standard adoption contract.

This contract commits you to caring for the cat responsibly. The conditions are straightforward and include a commitment not to mistreat the cat, to feed and care for it properly, and to ensure it is never abandoned again.

Through these formalities, which are essentially about getting to know one another, we aim to ensure that you and the kitten are a good match and that you can provide a loving and safe home. Our goal is to make the adoption process as positive as possible for everyone involved.
HAPPY ENDING!
Once the process is complete and the cat is in your home, we will monitor its adaptation over the first few days and be ready to assist you with anything you may need to help the cat settle into its new environment.

The adoption contract includes a commitment to follow-up; this simply involves updating us on how the cat is doing and sending us some photos or videos. Our goal is to ensure that both you and the cat are happy together and to provide any necessary support.

Of course, if you encounter any problems before, during, or after the adoption, we are here to help.

Thank you so much for choosing to adopt!
