Bosco started to have a fever and was more apathetic than usual, as well as losing his appetite, which was unusual for him. Although the fever went down with medication, it would go back up for no apparent reason. After carrying out tests, a slight anaemia was detected, which aroused suspicion due to a previous experience with another similar case, Rita. One afternoon, they noticed that his abdomen was swollen and, after an ultrasound, the vet confirmed the presence of fluid in the abdomen, compatible with abdominal wet FIP. Given the suspicion, they began a treatment with a vial they had from when they treated Rita. Today marks one week since they began the hard fight against FIP. The situation is heartbreaking, since Bosco is so small that it is difficult to medicate him without causing him pain.

Rita, born in a roundabout in 2021, fought illnesses from her first day. Despite the loss of her brother and suffering from health problems, she proved to be brave. After several tests, it was confirmed that she had FIP, a serious disease. Although she initially seemed hopeless, we found a promising treatment. Although it is long, hard and expensive, it is her only hope of life. We need your help to give Rita the chance to survive. It is an 84-day long race, but together we can make a difference!

We found an abandoned cat in a colony near a road. He was extremely thin and weak. We took him to a veterinary clinic for treatment and are awaiting news on his condition. Today we took a sick Siamese cat to the vet. Although he used to be strong and beautiful, he has been having health problems with his mouth and last week he had a wound on his face. Today, he was unable to stand and we rushed him to the vet. We don't know the exact cause of his condition, but we hope he will improve with veterinary treatment.

Protection of Feline Colonies

At La Casita de Mishu, our mission extends beyond rescuing abandoned cats; we also care for several colonies of feral cats in Ibiza, providing them with food, care, and proper monitoring to ensure their well-being. Currently, we feed around 60 cats across different colonies every day, ensuring they are all sterilized and closely monitored, ready to receive veterinary care whenever needed, rain or shine.

Additionally, through the TNR method (Trap, Neuter, and Return), we assist individuals with uncontrolled feline populations on their properties. These responsible individuals reach out to us for help in sterilizing their cats and agree to cover the costs of the procedures, helping to prevent further abandonment and maintain balance within the island's cat colonies.

Through this work, we strive to dignify the lives of community cats and promote harmonious coexistence in Ibiza, where every cat has a safe and cared-for place.
